Philip M. Butterfield, Chairman

Philip M. Butterfield was Chief Executive Officer of the Bank from February 2004 until May 2012. Prior to this he held the position of Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for the direction and oversight globally of Operations, Systems, Human Resources, Audit, compliance, Legal and Programme Management Office. Mr. Butterfield joined the Bank in 2000 as Chief Administration Officer. Before joining the Bank he held a number of senior positions with Citibank, which he joined in 1972 entering Citibank's Management Training Program. His experience included Private Banking, Corporate Banking, Operations and Technology, and Human Resources.
Mr. Butterfield is Chairman of the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust, a member of the Steering Committee for Bermuda First, President of Bermuda Health Foundation, Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Bermuda Environmental Alliance, Chairman of the Victor Scott School Alumni Association, a board member of the Bank of Bermuda Foundation, Johns Hopkins Medicine and the American Classical Orchestra.
Zarir J. Cama

Zarir J. Cama started his banking career in 1967 and joined the HSBC Group in 1968. After two years training in London, he returned to India and worked in various operational, credit and branch capacities. He was posted to the Group's then Head Office in Hong Kong in 1982 and then to HSBC's associate, the Saudi British Bank in 1988 where he finished as Deputy Managing Director. In 1992, he worked again in the then Head Office in Hong Kong and later at HSBC Holdings plc in October 1993 in the Group's new Headquarters after the acquisition of Midland Bank plc. In 1998, he was transferred to India as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and appointed Chief Executive Officer of HSBC India in October 1999. During his service in India he was appointed a Group General Manager of HSBC Holdings plc. He moved to Malaysia as Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer HSBC Bank Malaysia Bhd in November 2002. In June 2007, he returned to the Group's Head Office in London to set up a new International Division overseeing the Group's business worldwide. In 2009 he was given overall responsibility for the Group's Continental European business comprising 19 countries in which HSBC was represented. On re-organising this area of HSBC's business, he moved in February 2010 to the role as Group General Manager - Group Management Office, his last role before retiring from the HSBC Group on 31st December, 2011. He continues to serve as a non-executive Director of The Saudi British Bank and HSBC Private Banking Holdings (Suisse) SA.
Mr. Cama was conferred the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (D.S.P.N.), which carries the title 'Dato', by the Governor of Penang in July 2006. In April 2007 he was conferred the Dato' Paduka Mahkota Perak (D.P.M.P.) by the Sultan of Perak on the occasion of His Majesty's 79th Birthday, the only foreign banker to have been so honoured twice.
In London, he is on the Committee of the British Malaysian Society and the Royal Society for Asian Affairs. He is a Trustee, Director and Vice-Chairman of Asia House, the only such organisation in Britain which embraces and promotes the Century of Asia as its core value. He is also a Trustee of Britain's National Youth Orchestra and Chairman of a Trust set up in the UK to help villages in India and is a Trustee of Pratham - a UK based Trust which promotes education for underprivileged children in India.
Zarir Cama was born in Bombay, India and educated at St Paul's School, Darjeeling and St Stephen's College, Delhi University.
John R. Charman

John R. Charman was a founding partner of Axis Capital Holdings Limited. He was the Chief Executive Officer and President of Axis from its inception in 2001 until May 3, 2012 when he retired from these positions.
Mr. Charman has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry and has been in a senior underwriting position since 1975. From 2000 to 2001, he served as Deputy Chairman of ACE INA Holdings and President of ACE International. Mr. Charman was also Chief Executive Officer at ACE Global Markets from 1998 to 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Charman was the Chief Executive Officer of Tarquin plc (a joint venture company among Insurance Partners, Harvard University and the Charman Group), the parent company of the Charman Underwriting Agencies at Lloyd's. He was also a Deputy Chairman of the Council of Lloyd's and a member of the Lloyd's Core Management Group and Lloyd's Market Board between 1995 and 1997.
Mr. Charman joined the Board of the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art in July 2009. On January 2, 2011, Mr. Charman was appointed Second Deputy Chair for a two year term for Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR).
Geoffrey K. Elliott, OBE

Geoffrey K. Elliott, a Bermuda resident for over 20 years, has extensive merchant and investment banking experience, first as Vice-Chairman of SG Warburg & Co. Ltd., London and later as a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley & Co., Inc., New York.
Mr. Elliott is Chairman of Latsco Shipping Ltd., a Bermuda registered private holding company, and a Director of G. Heywood Hill, the old-established London booksellers. He previously served as Chairman of the Bermuda Land Development Company Ltd. and as a Trustee of The Bermuda National Gallery.
Mr. Elliott, an author and translator, is an Honorary Fellow of St. Antony's College, Oxford, and a Trustee of The Morgan Library and Museum in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott's collection of historic watercolours of Bermuda is housed in the National Archives, and the Brotherton Library of the University of Leeds has recognised an endowed gift from Mr. and Mrs. Elliott of a major collection of English literature and manuscripts by naming its Special Collections Reading Room in their honour. He was appointed OBE in 2003.
L. Anthony Joaquin, FCA

L. Anthony Joaquin, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, is retired Managing Partner of the Bermuda office of Ernst & Young. Mr. Joaquin has served as the Deputy Chairman of the Bermuda Government Insurance Advisory Committee (the main policy making body for insurance regulation in Bermuda) and as Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory Sub-Committee. He has also served as a member of the International Business Forum, the Bermuda Government Tax Advisory Committee and the Price Control Commission. He is currently a director of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, SAL Limited, BELCO Holdings Limited and BF&M Limited.
Cheryl-Ann Lister, OBE, CFA

Cheryl-Ann Lister serves as a consultant to the Bermuda Ministry of Justice on matters relating to anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism financing and is chairperson of the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee. She is also a director of Axis Capital Holdings Limited and Fidelity International Limited. Mrs. Lister is a former Director, Chairman, CEO and consultant to the Bermuda Monetary Authority and a former Director and Chairman of the Audit & Pension Investment Committees of the Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited. She is also a former Board Member, Chair of the Finance Committee and Member of the Executive Committee of the Bermuda Hospitals Board. Mrs. Lister was a founding member and President of the Bermuda Society of Financial Analysts. She also served as a Governor for the Association of Investment Management and Research (now the CFA Institute). In addition, she served as the President of the International Society of Financial Analysts.
A Bermuda Government scholar, Mrs. Lister received her B.S. with Honors in Probability & Statistics from Queens University in 1978 and her M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Toronto in 1980. Mrs. Lister is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
R. Blake Marshall, CA

R. Blake Marshall is President of Raphael Limited, a real estate holding company. Educated at Warwick Academy, Mr. Marshall obtained a BA in Economics and Business Administration in June 1979 from Furman University in the United States. Two years later he obtained a MSc in Accounting from the University of Central Florida. After passing the CPA exam in 1982, Mr. Marshall worked for Wall & Bray, CPAs in Florida for three years. On returning to Bermuda in 1985 he joined KPMG Peat Marwick as an Audit Senior. He remained there until September 1997, with the last six years spent as a Partner specialising in insurance and banking. Mr. Marshall is also a Director of Grotto Bay Properties Limited.
Mr. Marshall is married and has three sons.
Richard J. Moseley

Richard J. Moseley is the Bank's Chief Executive Officer. He joined the Bank as Deputy Chief Executive Officer on 1 December 2009.
Mr. Moseley is a seasoned professional within the Financial Services arena, having spent the last 30 years with the HSBC Group, most recently in the position of Deputy CEO, HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited. Prior to his Bermuda appointment, Richard was a Senior Executive within the HSBC's Group head office. Previous experiences within the HSBC Group have included Global Head of Payments and Cash Management, Chief Operating Officer for Global Transaction Banking, General Manager for Corporate and Institutional Banking as well as General Manager for Card Services. Richard has also held roles such as CEO and country Manager for Midland/HSBC business in France and Head of Group Private Banking, UK. He has directly led two successful turnarounds for the HSBC Group in Continental Europe and a multi-island offshore business. Richard brings strong customer focus and global management experience.
Richard holds a BSc. Honors as well as an ACIB professional qualification. In his capacity as Chief Executive Officer, Richard has management oversight and responsibility for all lines of business within the Bank and leads the Executive Management Committee in setting strategic direction for the Bank.
Brian Robertson

Brian Robertson is an HSBC Group Managing Director and the Chief Executive of HSBC Bank plc. He joined HSBC in 1975 and was first posted to the United Arab Emirates in 1976 and in 1978 moved to Oman as the Officer in Charge, Foreign Exchange. In 1979 he moved to Hong Kong where he held appointments in Wayfoong Finance, Wardley Limited and the main Hong Kong office, culminating in his appointment as Deputy Manager, Credit Control, Hong Kong Area Management. Following two years as Manager Specialised Lending, Group Head Office, Mr. Robertson was posted to New York, where he became Chief Credit Officer HSBC Bank USA. This was followed by a move to Toronto, Canada, as Chief Operating Officer of HSBC Bank Canada. In 1997 he returned to the UK as General Manager Northern Division for HSBC Bank plc. In 2000 he returned to Hong Kong as Assistant General Manager and Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking. In March 2003 Mr Robertson became a Group General Manager and moved to New York as Head of Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets - North America, HSBC Bank USA. Brian was responsible for all of HSBC's Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Treasury and Capital Markets and Asset Management businesses in North America. In January 2005 Brian transferred to HSBC Holdings, London as Group General Manager, Group Credit and Risk. Upon consolidation of the Risk Functions within Group Management Office, Brian was appointed Group Chief Risk Officer in September 2007. On 1st December, 2010 Brian was appointed Chief Executive, HSBC Bank plc.
Brian was educated at Cambridge University and received a Masters Degree in Geography.
David J. Shaw

David J. Shaw has been Adviser to the Board of HSBC Holdings plc since 1998. A solicitor, he was a partner of Norton Rose from 1973 until 1998. He is a Director of HSBC Private Bank Holdings (Suisse) S. A. and HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) S.A. He is also an independent non-executive Director of Kowloon Development Company Limited and Shui On Land Limited, companies listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.
Henry B. Smith

Henry B. Smith was Chief Executive Officer of the Bank from March, 1997 until February 2004. From February 2004 until his retirement from the Bank on 31st December, 2004 he was Executive Director with oversight responsibility for integration of the Bank's business into the HSBC group. Mr Smith began his career at the Bank as a Management Trainee in 1973 and prior to his appointment as CEO, he held various senior positions within the Bank, including Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Senior Vice President (Europe) and Senior Vice President and General Manager, Retail Banking. He holds a B.A. in psychology from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, U.S.A. He is currently a director of Axis Capital Holdings Limited, a Bermuda-based global provider of speciality lines insurance and treaty reinsurance, and a member of the Institute of Directors.
Judith P. Doidge, F.C.I.S.
Corporate Secretary
Judith Doidge is the Bank's Corporate Secretary, with responsibility for the company secretarial and corporate administrative affairs of the Bank.
Mrs Doidge joined the Bank in 1971 in the Investment division. In 1980, she was appointed the Bank's Trader and Representative on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. In January 1990 she moved to the post of Supervisor, Corporate Administration and Assistant Corporate Secretary and seven months later was appointed Corporate Secretary.
Mrs Doidge was appointed a Vice President in December 1997 and an Executive Officer in August 2001. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and an Associate Member of the Institute of Directors.
Mrs Doidge attended The Bermuda High School for Girls, Lawnside School in Malvern, England, and the London College of Secretaries.
