HSBC is the recipient of the "2013 Good Corporate Citizen" award. The award is issued by the Bermudian Magazine, and is given to the organisation that has had the most impact on the local community between June 2012 - March 2013. The Bank's commitment to addressing community needs is long-standing and HSBC Bermuda will continue to focus on participating in the development of the local economy through sponsorships, donations and volunteerism.
In 2006 the Bank launched the Staff Community Action Day Volunteer Programme, providing all permanent, full time HSBC Bermuda staff with time off from work per calendar year to volunteer to assist with projects focused on education, environment and the general community. Since inception of the programme, Bank staff have volunteered nearly 8,000 hours of community service. Each year the Bank selects three projects for staff participation.
