Online banking

1. Select Register for online banking from the Logon screen
2. Input your name, date of birth and customer number so you can be verified
3. A One Time Activation Code will be sent to the mobile number held on our systems
4. If you do not receive this code, call the Contact Centre on 1-441-299-5959
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete your username, password and security questions
6. Registration is now complete. You may now log on to online banking
7. After your first log on you will need to activate your security device
8. If you do not have a security device please visit any one of our branches

No, you do not need a debit card to sign up for online banking. Simply following the steps in the question above.

Your customer number is the first 9 digits of your sole account number. You can find this on your sole account statement. If you only have a joint account statement or do not know you sole account number please call the Contact Centre on +1 441 299-5959.

We are introducing the changes to our online banking and migrating our customers in phases.

You can continue to log on at www.hsbc.bm where you will be taken to the new log on or the existing online banking depending upon your migration status.

We've made some exciting changes and improvements to online banking security, but all your usual banking services will remain the same.

When the new platform launches, the first change you'll notice is a newly designed log on page. Customers will be migrated to the new platform over the next few weeks. If your profile has been migrated you will notice a new log on journey. Here’s what you can expect.

Online banking is available to both PC and Apple Mac users with modern internet-enabled machines.

Supported browsers:

• Internet Explorer 11
• Chrome (latest version)
• Safari (9 and above)
• Firefox (latest version)
  

Supported operating systems:

• Windows 7, 8 and 10
  
• Mac OS X 10.9 and above

It is advisable to upgrade or use one of the recommended supported operating system or browsers for accessing online banking.

Step 1 On the Account summary page select the investment account

Step 3 The investment account opens in a pop-up window. Please note that your investment accounts will not appear if pop-ups are blocked.

Pop-up settings

To ensure the pop-up window opens, please amend your browser settings. You can either switch the pop-up blocker off, or add www.hsbc.bm to the list of allowed sites. Specific instructions for popular browsers - are listed below.

Internet Explorer

Choose Tools > Internet Options > Privacy. Uncheck the "Turn on Pop-up Blocker" box.

You can also add online banking specifically to the unblock list by – selecting Settings to the right of the "Turn on Pop-up Blocker" heading, typing www.hsbc.bm into the top text field, and - selecting Add.

Google Chrome

Click the three dots from the top-right side of the page. Choose Settings > Advanced > Content Settings > Popups. You can also enable pop-ups for online banking specifically by clicking ADD below the "Allow" heading, typing in www.hsbc.bm, and clicking ADD.

FireFox

Click the three lines icon. It's in the top-right corner of the window. A drop-down menu will appear. Choose Options (or Preferences on a Mac) > Privacy & Security > Permissions > Block pop-up windows. 

Alternatively, you can -select Exceptions... to the right of the "Block pop-up windows" box, type in www.hsbc.bm, click Allow.

¹Please note payment routing instructions should always be used for all incoming payments and credits to your HSBC Bermuda accounts.

It is imperative that the various parties in the payment instruction, (ie correspondent bank, beneficiary bank and beneficiary) are clearly and accurately identified. For example, HSBC Bermuda is the beneficiary bank and not the beneficiary. Bank-to-bank information fields should not be used to identify the various parties in a payment. These instructions are standard international payment instructions that should be easily understood by the remitting bank.  Failure of a bank to format the payment correctly may result in delays beyond HSBC Bermuda control.
